David A. Reimann

I am interested in the applications of mathematics and computer science to art. In particular, I am interested in symmetry, tessellations, and surface patterns. I have written software for creating polygonal tessellations based on uniform tilings by regular and star polygons. Since 2009, I have regularly attended and given talks at conferences such as Bridges, Joint Mathematics Meetings and ISAMA. I have always been fascinated by the artwork of M.C. Escher, and have traveled to the Netherlands and Spain to see his artwork, archival papers, and influences on his work.

My current research continues my investigation of symmetry in tessellations.
