Current Projects of David A. Reimann
- Parallel Algorithms for Computed Tomography
I am looking at
implementing parallel algorithms for computed tomography on
heterogeneous clusters of workstations using
MPI.
- Roundoff and Quantization Error in Computed Tomography
I am looking at how roundoff and quantization error effects the
accuracy of reconstructed images.
- 3D Computed Tomography at a Microscopic Scale
We are developing a research 3D x-ray microscope with
10 micometer resolution.
This machine employs computed tomography principles at a microscopic
scale.
We have developed a similar system for 50-100 micrometer resolution.
- Analysis of Spatial Resolution for 2D Imaging Systems
I am researching simple test objects to measure spatial resolution
of 2D images.
- Analysis of Spatial Resolution for 3D Imaging Systems
I have looked at spherical test objects to measure spatial resolution
of 3D images from 3D imaging systems.
- Analysis of Microscopic Images
I have developed software to analyze surface area, volume, and orientation
of microstructure.
I plan on assessing the accuracy and precision of these methods.
- Hardcopy Display of Three Dimensional Information
I am looking at some interesting ways to map spherical domain
measures to hardcopy devices.
- Geometric Distortion Correction in X-Ray Image Intensifier Systems
I am looking at accuracy and precision of distortion correction
applied to x-ray image intensifier systems.
- Analysis of Projectional Images
I am interested in determining what 3D information can be determined
from limited projection views.
